Day 2: KU School of Journalism

MEDIA MANIA VISITS KU SCHOOL OF JOURNALISM

LAWRENCE, Kan. — On June 7, seven students at the Barstow Media Mania camp went to KU School of Journalism in Lawrence, Kan.  They took a tour of the Stauffer-Flint building, which is one of the buildings where young journalists learn.

The tour was given by KU Academic Advisor Ashley Gomez.  She has been working at KU since 2007 and has a master's degree in higher education administration.  She enjoys her job because she loves to help students with a variety of issues related to academics, dorm life, and homesickness.

The tour did not just give information on journalism, it gave information on all kinds of media, like TV, radio, producing, directing, and sportscasting.

A student that went on the tour named Kyle said that his favorite part of the tour was learning about the environment and jobs at the school.
